I just thought I’d chip in and say that, for anyone else wanting to do this kind of thing, a key aspect of this is to have a big list of all your site’s old URLs and all the corresponding new URLs. This is what makes it possible to do the redirects. In the case of the FCO Web project this list is a bi-product of the content migration work, which is nice.

Interesting stuff, Em. Despite being a genius, I have never really understood all this redirect stuff, which is a shame bearing in mind how often I move my blog. Anyway, it’ll will be good to follow this project as it develops. Can’t wait till you start writing about .htaccess files and exciting things like that…
